After three days of intercultural activities, the MYSA team won the Fair Play trophy in the closing event of the Prague Day for Africa.
Ten young people aged 16-19 and their leader Alphonse Isai arrived in Prague on 1 June for the first stage of their tour around Europe. Throughout June, the young players will participate in a range of activities in four cities in the Czech Republic before moving on to Austria and Italy.
The MYSA delegation will participate in workshops, visits and intercultural exchanges with Czech high schools on the first leg of their journey. Each city will also host a public event featuring cultural performances and a football tournament.
A rousing celebration
The football tournament in Prague featured teams from around the city as well as former Czech national team captain Tomáš Ujfaluši.
The young MYSA players showed their skills on stage as well, performing traditional dances and music in front of an enthusiastic, dancing crowd.
The next stops for the MYSA team are Polička, Ostrava and Olomouc, where the young players will be hosted by Czech families. Each participant will have a unique opportunity to personally experience Czech family traditions as well as share their own Kenyan culture with their hosts.
After almost a month of memorable experiences in the Czech Republic, the MYSA delegation will move on to Austria on 24 June.
The MYSA Tour is organised by INEX-SDA in Czech Republic.
