streetfootballworld network member The Big Issue will host its first street football festival on a custom-built floating football pitch on Sydney’s Darlington Harbour from May 28.

The nine-day festival will highlight the strengths of the Community Street Soccer Program. Involving both female and males, Australians of all age groups and abilities drawn from several different States in Australia will compete for the National Championship.

The Big Issue’s Community Street Soccer Program began in 2004 and has helped over 3,000 participants in that time. 

Providing weekly training sessions to homeless and marginalised Australians from 25 territories across the country, The Big Issue gives participants support as well as the tools needed to make a positive change in their lives.

The festival will also include a government agency cup, a corporate cup and a junior competition.
