This year’s Homeless World Cup (HWC) will take place in Rio de Janiero, Brazil.

The Homeless World Cup is an annual international football tournament uniting teams of people who are homeless and excluded to represent their country on the world stage.

Sixty-four nations are expected to participate this year.

The HWC supports grassroots football projects in over 70 nations that work with a total of over 30,000 homeless and excluded people. The first tournament took place in Graz, Austria in 2003 and united 18 national teams.
