The “International Sport and Development Conference – Beyond 2010” will be held at the Interdisciplinary Centre of Excellence for Sports Science and Development (ICESSD) at the University of the Western Cape, Cape Town, South Africa from 1-3 September.

The event, with the subheading “The South African 2010 Soccer World Cup: Outcomes, Opportunities and Challenges & Sport and Development”, offers participant a three day programme with international researchers and speakers.

Day one will see a presentation of innovative research the field of Sport for Development, while the second and third day will form the main conference, analysing the impact of the World Cup from various perspectives, including Health, Media, Tourism and Social and Economic Development.
