A time to meet and greet
The streetfootballworld projects around the 2006 World Cup have totally entered into the spirit of the official World Cup motto: “A time to make friends”. The local pitches around Berlin’s Kreuzberg district are set to become the centre of the international street football scene, with the district itself hosting the street football stadium. The “World Cup Schools” project is enabling thousands of school kids of all ages to have a look behind the scenes in 205 FIFA countries. And all over the world, new pitches are being created, reflecting the streetfootballworld projects’ prime focus on sustainability.

The project focuses on the core themes of global learning and fairness, in all its many different aspects. More on World Cup Schools...
The world needs more soccer pitches

With the help of sponsors and supporters, streetfootballworld is creating pitches in major cities where soccer players can have a change to kick a ball around. The pilot project is refurbishing a soccer pitch in Berlin’s inner city district of Kreuzberg, and kicking off a “Partner Pitch” cooperation with a pitch near the Afghan capital of Kabul.
